Fortnite on Nintendo Switch

Earlier at the Nintendo Direct E3 2018, Fortnite was announced to come to the Switch. The game was available for download via the Nintendo eShop an hour after the Nintendo Direct E3 2018 aired.

Fortnite is a free-to-play game with optional microtransactions. To play Fortnite on your Nintendo Switch, you should always be connected to the internet, as this is an online game. In addition to that, you should have an Epic Games account, if you don’t you can prompt the game to a sign-up page. If you already have an Epic Games account, you can just simply log it in. However, if you, at least once, logged in your Epic Games account to PSN, you won’t be able to log it in in the Switch version.

Fortnite for the Nintendo Switch will not support cross-play with the Playstation version, but it supports cross-play between Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile.

In addition to this, Save the World mode is not available nor do the developers have plans to include it in the Switch version.

Voice chat is supported for the Nintendo Switch. Fortnite supports party chat through the headphone jack on Switch. You don’t have to use the Nintendo Switch Online app for this feature.

For those who are graphic-conscious people, here’s a comparison video between the Switch version and the PS4 version, recorded by Select Frontier YouTube channel:
