We finally got what we asked for!
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
From the Nintendo 3DS version, the people have been asking the Western counterpart of the expansion of Monster Hunter X, Monster Hunter Generations for the west; Monster Hunter XX.
While it was seemed ignored by Capcom, Capcom decided to release an “HD remaster” of the Japanese Monster Hunter XX to the Nintendo Switch. However, just earlier, Capcom dropped the bomb announcing that they will release a Western localization for Monster Hunter XX for the Nintendo Switch entitled Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
Like Monster Hunter XX for the Nintendo Switch, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate also gets the same features as it had:
- Being able to transfer Monster Hunter Generations Save File from the Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo Switch version
- Being able to play wirelessly ad-hoc/local and online
However, one feature from the Japanese version won’t be present in the Western version: In the Japanese version, Monster Hunter XX for the Nintendo Switch can be played alongside the Nintendo 3DS version of Monster Hunter XX via Online Play, not locally. This feature won’t be present in the Western version since the expansion of Monster Hunter X, Monster Hunter XX, was not released.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is slated to be released for the Nintendo Switch on August 28th, 2018 in both physical retail and digital download in Europe and North America.
