Mega Man X Collection

Famitsu just revealed a very interesting news for Mega Man X series enthusiasts!

Last December, Capcom announced that all Mega Man X games would be re-released as a legacy collection as 2 games but no one knows of what form it will take.  Back in February, both of the Mega Man X Collection 1 & 2 were rated in Australia. Today, with Famitsu’s article, it was now confirmed.

Mega Man X Anniversary Collection will include the following games: Mega Man X, Mega Man X2, Mega Man X3, and Mega Man X4, while Mega Man X Anniversary Collection 2 will include Mega Man X5 through Mega Man X8. In addition to this, the Anniversary Collection edition will include the following features: optional filter, a music and art gallery, a collection of images depicting various Mega Man X merchandise that has been released over the years, a trailer collection for each of the Mega Man X as well as the “Day of Sigma” OVA.

Moreover, there will be a new mode in addition called “X Challenge”. “X Challenge” is a boss rush mode where you’ll fight bosses of the entire series altogether.

The games are to be released for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and Xbox One, however, physical versions of the collections would only be available for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch version. PC via Steam and Xbox One versions, unfortunately, will only have digital versions of the games.

Both collections will be released on July 26, 2018, in Japan. T̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶n̶o̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶d̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶e̶s̶t̶e̶r̶n̶ ̶r̶e̶l̶e̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶w̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶e̶x̶p̶e̶c̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶r̶e̶l̶e̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶w̶i̶n̶d̶o̶w̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶e̶s̶t̶.̶

UPDATE: The official Mega Man twitter tweeted out that the Western release is on July 24, 2018, 2 days earlier than the Japanese release. Additionally, individually, buying both of the games will cost $19.99 each digitally, and a special retail bundle, a physical version release including both games, costing $39.99 for all the platform. However, the Nintendo Switch retail will only come with the first collection and with a digital code for download for the second collection. Only Japan will get a physical release for both games separately, unfortunately.
